Posted 25th Jun 2014 in Reducing Harm From Falls

The Commission has received the report on the national results for the 2014 April Falls quiz, which had just over 1500 entries.

The report on the national results is now available here. It compares the 2014 results on six questions asked in the 2013 April Falls Quiz, and gives the result for ten new questions asked in 2014.

Reports for each district health board (DHB) area include the responses from a range of provider organisations (ie, the DHB, aged residential care, primary health care, community and other organisations) and compare local 2014 results with those from 2013. The area reports are being sent to Directors of Nursing and Quality and Risk Managers in each DHB, as the people who will know how best to disseminate them locally and facilitate dialogue within falls prevention committees and cross-sector networks. Please contact Julene Hope (julene.hope@hqsc.govt.nz) for any enquiries about DHB area reports.

Overall, we would like to highlight the opportunities for falls champions and educators to work with the results in the report, and have provided an Appendix matching quiz questions with the 10 Topics and a resource on the appropriate use of bedrails developed by First, Do No Harm.

The Appendix is available in the national report, or find it here.
